Saving the Season with Kevin West

Join us as we welcome author and master preserver Kevin West for a fantastic weekend of exploring the farm and kitchen.


Early October is the height of our apple season. We'll be picking apples, pressing cider, and making cider donuts along with our regular farm stay activities. Kevin's book Saving the Season: A Cook's Guide to Home Canning, Pickling and Preserving has inspired us and helped us to capture the flavor of summer's bounty here at the farm. We're lucky to have him join us in the kitchen as we roll up our sleeves and "put up" some of our freshly picked produce for the winter larder. 

Our Culinary Farm Stays begin with your arrival at the farm Friday afternoon. Settle into your rooms and join us in the early evening for one of our signature cocktails and introduction to the weekend. Our Friday night welcome dinner highlights the farm's fresh produce paired with dairy, meats and other ingredients  from our neighboring farms. All of our meals are paired with wines and spirits from our grower producer cellar. 

Saturday begins with breakfast and our farm activities. Farm Manager Adam Buggy will lead you into the fields for an in depth look at all that happens in our 2 acre garden. We'll be harvesting produce for our kitchen adventures in the afternoon. 

After lunch Kevin will share his expertise using our mornings haul - teaching preserving methods and creating elements of our evening meal and Sunday brunch.

The day will culminate in our hands-on cooking class where we'll bring together the day's experiences to create a delicious dinner. 

Sunday will start with coffee, cider pressing and cider donuts. You are also welcome to lend a hand with farm chores or brunch preparations. Brunch will cap off our weekend as we gather once more around the table to enjoy the bounty of the season. Guests are welcome to explore the property for the afternoon. 

Farm Stay Details:

Our beautiful rooms rates are $1400 single occupancy, $1800 double occupancy. 

Rates are inclusive of lodging, meals, beverages and educational activities. We are happy to accommodate dietary restrictions. 

We have several adjoining rooms available if you are coming with friends or relatives or chose or "chicken coop", which offers the most privacy. Book your farm stay here.
