Wow! It is hard to believe we are already 6 weeks into the CSA harvest. Pretty much we are right on track. Now that cucumbers and squash are coming in, we will also start to seed some nightshades soon. The first in our share are shishito peppers. These little guys are some of our favorites. If you are new to shishitos you are in for a treat. Supposedly one in ten is hot and the others are tangy and mild. I love these blistered on a hot pan or grill. The smokiness of the char is perfect with sweet corn, tomatillos and cherry tomato salsa. All good things coming soon. As for right now, you can sear these with quartered turnips and dress with a basil and chili dressing. We love this recipe from Food and Wine and while you're at it you might as well go ahead and make the roast chicken that goes with this recipe and make a whole meal out of it!
